Imani and Teo make a book about a desert tortoise. Imani is the author. She writes the words. Teo is the illustrator. He draws the pictures.

The desert sun can be hot. A desert tortoise needs a cool place to rest. It can dig a burrow. A burrow is a hole in the ground where an animal can stay.

Imani adds a heading, “A Cool Rest.” She tells how the burrow helps the tortoise stay cool. Teo draws the tortoise in its burrow. A caption under his picture says, “A tortoise rests in a burrow.” The words and pictures help us learn together.
