Zola Finds a Snug Fit

Zola the bunny asks about unfamiliar words as she discovers that a snug sweater fits closely without pinching.

Play the quiz as a game

Zola the bunny puts on a sweater in her room. “It is snug,” Dad says. “What is snug?” asks Zola. “Is it too small?”

“Snug means it fits close,” says Dad. “It should not pinch.” Zola lifts her arms. Nothing pinches! Her old sweater was loose. It hung away from her body.

Zola tugs a cuff. “What is this?” “A cuff is the band at your wrist,” Dad says. Zola pats the cuff.

Dad makes a page for her book. The heading says, “My Sweater.” Below a picture of Zola, the caption says, “A snug fit.” Zola smiles. “It fits close, and I can move!”
