A Quilt and a Cushion
Two short camping stories invite children to compare Aya’s backyard camp with Benji’s camp inside an apartment.
Play the quiz as a gameThe heading in our book is “Two Camps.” A picture has the caption “Camping Close to Home.”
In the first story, Aya camps in her backyard with Dad. Her tent is on the grass. She hears a frog. Her bed feels chilly. Dad brings a quilt. Aya pulls it up to her chin. “Now I am warm!” she says.
In the next story, Benji camps inside his apartment with Dad. His tent is on the rug. He hears a bus. His bed feels hard. Dad brings a cushion. Benji puts it under his back. “Now I am snug!” he says.
Both children smile and close their eyes. A camp can be fun in either place.
