An Apple Cutaway

Where are an apple's seeds? You cannot see them through its skin. A cutaway picture can help. It shows an apple with a part cut away.

This apple has red skin. The picture shows the skin along the outside edge. The white part is inside the skin.

Look at the middle of the apple in the picture. This part is the core. The small brown shapes in the core are seeds.

The caption under the picture says, "Seeds in the core." The words and picture help us find the seeds. They are inside the apple, not on its skin.
