Two Pots by the Steps

Anika and Grandpa are outside their city apartment. They want to plant flowers beside the steps.

Grandpa has a big pot of soil. Anika tries to lift it. The pot will not move. “It is too heavy!” she says.

Grandpa gets two small pots. They scoop soil from the big pot into the small pots. Now they can lift the pots.

They set the pots in the sun beside the steps. Anika plants red flowers. Grandpa adds water. “Our door looks happy!” Anika says.

Anika draws their flowers. Her heading is “Flowers by Our Door.” The caption under her picture says, “Grandpa and I plant together.”
