Two Windows, One Tent
On a camping trip, Nasim wants to watch the stars while Inez wants a cozy place to sleep. They discover that sharing a tent does not mean enjoying it in the same way.

After supper, stars began to shine. Nasim rolled up both covers. “Look! Our tent is a sky lookout!” he said in a bright, eager voice. “Let's leave both windows uncovered. I want to spot a shooting star!”
Inez pulled her blanket around her shoulders. “I want a snug place to sleep,” she said softly. “That means warm and cozy to me. Could we cover the windows? The breeze keeps tickling my nose.”
Nasim frowned. “But the sky is the best part of camping!” “For you,” Inez answered. “For me, the best part is curling up after a long hike.” Aunt Lena pointed at the windows. “Do these covers have to match?”
Nasim looked from his sleeping bag to hers. Then he grinned. “Let's cover your window and leave mine uncovered. The mesh will keep bugs outside, and I can still see stars.” Inez lowered her cover and settled beneath her blanket.
“You can like camping without liking every part I like,” Nasim whispered. Inez smiled and tucked in her feet. Soon, she was asleep while he watched a tiny patch of sky.
In the morning, Inez drew their tent. Below it, her caption said, “One tent, two happy campers.” Nasim added three stars.
