Story One: Zola Turns Back

Zola the hedgehog stood by a corn maze. Tall corn lined its paths. A sign had the heading “Find the Red Gate.” Zola took the narrow path on the left. She went around a bend, but the path ended at a wall of corn.

“I am stuck!” she said. Then she had an idea. She went back to the bend and tried a new path. Soon she found the red gate. “Going back helped me go on!” she said.

Story Two: Timo Steps Across

Timo the hedgehog went into a corn maze to find a red gate. He took the wide path on the right. A big puddle covered the path. He did not want wet feet.

Timo saw flat stones in the puddle. “These can help!” he said. He stepped from stone to stone. His feet stayed dry. He kept going on the same path and reached the red gate.
