The Duck Bath Dance

Two impatient ducks tap and dance to the sounds of a garden pump while they wait for their bath.

Play the quiz as a game

NARRATOR: (Beside a garden pump stands a wide pan. A sign has the heading "Duck Bath." Under a picture of ducks, a caption says, "Ready to splash.")

ZUZU: (She taps her feet.) Is it bath time yet? My feet cannot keep still!

TEO: That pan has just a little water. Oh, this wait feels so long!

ADA: The pump gives a slow trickle. We need more water for your bath.

ZUZU: Could we make it hurry?

ADA: No, but we can tap a steady beat while we wait. Listen! Drip, plip, plop!

TEO: (He taps one foot.) Drip, plip, plop! Now my feet can dance.

ZUZU: (She joins him.) Tap, flap, wiggle! Waiting is better with a duck dance.

ADA: The pan is full enough now. Step right in!

TEO: (Both ducks step into the pan.) Ah! I feel cool drops on my warm feathers.

ZUZU: Splish! Splash! I am so glad! Our bath was worth the wait!
