A Suitcase for a Cloud
Edda compares a made-up story about a cloud's desert vacation with a book that gives facts about cloud types.
Play the quiz as a gameEdda opened two books on the porch. One was called A Cloud's Desert Trip. She read the story aloud.
"Miri the cloud packed a tiny suitcase. 'I want a desert vacation!' she said. She drifted over the sand. Her chair was too small. So she stretched a rainbow between two hills. She slept on her rainbow bed."
Edda laughed. "A cloud cannot pack a suitcase! This writer made up Miri's trip."
Then Edda opened Meet the Clouds. A heading said "Cloud Types." Below it, she read, "Cumulus clouds look puffy. Cirrus clouds are high, thin, and wispy. Stratus clouds can form low layers that cover much of the sky." A photo had a caption: "These puffy clouds are cumulus clouds."
"This book gives facts about real clouds," Edda said. "I can use it to learn cloud names. The other book tells a made-up story about a cloud's trip. I like both!"
