Sami and the Wide Straw Hat
At a desert market, a camel tries on huge hats until a hat seller helps him make one fit.
Play the quiz as a gameSami the camel walked into a desert market. Warm sand lay between the shops. Sami stopped at Noor's hat stand. A heading on her sign said, "Huge Hats." Below a picture of a hat, a caption said, "Find some shade!"
Sami wanted shade for his face. He tried a giant red hat. It slid down over his eyes. "I cannot see!" he said. Noor lifted it off.
Next, Sami tried a tall blue hat. A breeze made it tip to one side. "This one will not stay!" said Sami.
Noor held up an enormous straw hat. "That is so wide!" Sami said. He put it on. The front hung over his eyes. "Let us fold the front up," Noor said. She made a fold. Then she tied its ribbon under his chin.
Sami turned his head. The hat stayed in place. He could see the whole market, and his face was in the shade. "This big hat fits me now!" he said. He paid Noor and walked on with a happy grin.
