Suri's Tiny Birthday Parade
When rain spoils Suri's birthday parade plans, her friends help her find a new way to celebrate with toy animals.

On Saturday, Kai and Nia came to her home. They wore paper hats. But rain splashed on the path outside.
Suri's smile drooped. “We cannot march on that wet path,” she said. “And this room is too small for a big parade.”
Kai picked up a toy bear. “What about a tiny parade?” he asked. Nia put a toy frog beside the bear. Suri began to smile.
The three friends set toy animals in a line on a table. They made little hats from paper. Suri moved the bear. Kai tapped a soft beat on a box. Nia made the frog hop.
Soon, the toys marched past Suri's sign. The children cheered. “This is not the parade I planned,” Suri said. “But we found a new way to have fun!”
