Four Stones for a Postcard
Zoya wants to draw a beach postcard for Dad, but the wind blows it away. Grandma and cousin Teo help her finish it.
Play the quiz as a gameI sat on a beach blanket with my cousin Teo and Grandma. My name is Zoya. I was making a postcard for Dad.
"Our Beach" was the heading at the top. I drew the sea. Under my picture, I wrote a caption: "Blue waves roll in."
Then a gust swept my card off the blanket. Teo grabbed it from the sand. The wind bent one corner.
"Oh, no! How can I finish?" I asked. I held the card down, but then I could not draw.
"Try these smooth stones, Zoya," Grandma said. She set four small stones on the blanket. "They can hold your card flat."
"I can put one on each corner," Teo said. "You keep drawing!" He placed the stones, and I drew a red boat.
Soon my card was done. "Now Dad can see our beach," I said. Grandma smiled. Teo lifted the stones, and I tucked the card safely in our bag.
